CDAA Annual Scholarships
Each year, the Scholarship Committee oversees the awarding of various annual scholarships to current members of the Cavalier Daily staff:
The John Herring Scholarship – $1,000
Awarded to a Cavalier Daily staffer participating in a media-related internship that will enhance his/her journalism skills and contributions to the Cavalier Daily.
The Kris Pierson Memorial Scholarship (Photography) – $1,000
Awarded to a Cavalier Daily Photographer participating in a photography-related internship or workshop.
The Jeff Carlton Memorial Scholarship (Sports Writing) – $1,000
Awarded to a Cavalier Daily staff writer to pursue a summer internship in sports journalism.

The CDAA/VPA Community Journalism Internship
A full-time summer internship with a Virginia Press Association member paper. The intern will earn a weekly salary of $300, paid for by the CDAA.
