Joseph Federici ‘76

Married to Kathy for 37 years, we have five children including Matthew (class of 2006), consulting engineer for 40 years. I have fond memories living in the Pit with Hoyt and Howie. | October 2019

Scott Mathews ’76

Investment Advisor for 28 years, and a Vice President at Merrill Lynch. Married to Kathy, a 1977 UVa Nursing grad. We reside in Charlotte, NC, and Sunset Beach, NC. We have two children: Brent, 30, and Keeley, 28.

Clarke Cunningham ’39

Retired. Past president of the Virginia Athletics Foundation and Virginia Bankers Assoc. Served on the Board of Visitors from 1980-84.

Graham “Bud” Evans ’58

I lived in the PIKA House from 1954 to 1957 and have fond memories of being there, including the time my dog Sam ate my roommate’s V sweater.

I am still a practicing architect in Richmond, Virginia, doing residential and light commercial work. Jackie Crebbs and I have been married for 23 years. I have two sons and two step-children, one grandson and two step-grandsons. For the past four years we have lived in a house I designed. I’d love to hear from any of my brothers from our old days at the University.

Jim Rutrough ’71

I am currently vice chairman of state farm insurance. Plan to retire later this year and move to Charlottesville.

Frank Barham ’73

EDd. Curry School, B.S. ECU-1963, M.A. Educ. ECU-1966, Retired, Professor Emeritus, UVa., Transferred membership from Epsilon Mu Chapter at ECU to UVa 1990.

Steven Charlip ’81

Living in Weston, MA (Boston suburb). After 22 years with 2 large Boston law firms, started my own law firm, Steven L. Charlip, LLC, specializing in commercial real estate development and leasing. My wife Stephanie graduated from Sweet Briar in 1981 and has her own dog boarding and training business. Oldest daughter Allie graduated from UVa in 2009 and will be going to veterinary school at Penn staring this fall. Second daughter, Annie, will be graduating from University of Michigan next year and hopes to either embroider belts or start on Enterprise Rental Cars customer service training program after graduation, before attending business school. Son Jeff is 16 and HS sophomore. Has his eye on UVa or Vanderbilt.

David Ward ’01

Living in NYC, where I’m an Assistant Principal at a high school in the Bronx. Crushed Los Angeles last weekend along with 25 other PiKAs spanning ten years (’94-’04). Psyched for C’ville this fall.

Tom Decarlo ’06

Will be traveling this summer with Jason Nadeau (’07) – driving cross country and then heading to Tokyo,Japan to visit Sean Sulliva (’06). This Fall, Tom will be moving back to Charlottesville to attend the Darden School of Business.
