The Cavalier Daily Alumni Association was pleased to host our first holiday party on the evening of December 7, 2016. The event was held at the New York Times building in New York City, thanks to the generous help of our U.Va. alums who currently work at The Times.

The event was attended by approximately 35 individuals, spanning many generations of Cav Daily members. The speaker for the evening was Mike Bass, who currently serves as director of news operations at the Associated Press. Bass served as editor-in-chief at The Cavalier Daily in 1982-83.

Sheryl Gay Stolberg, Mid-Atlantic bureau chief for The New York Times and former Cav Daily executive editor, was originally scheduled to speak at the event but was unable to due to a scheduling conflict. She prepared an introduction for Bass, which CDAA Communications Chair Emily Churchill read.

The CDAA would like to thank all of the attendees for joining. As well, we would like to thank Carmen Ingerman from The New York Times and Nancy Lago from Restaurant Associates for helping make this event a success. Finally, thank you to the U.Va. Alumni Association for all of their help.
