Great news (literally).

The Cavalier Daily just made the Princeton Review’s list of top 10 college newspapers in the country.

It’s the second year in a row the CD has earned that distinction.

“Every single member of The Cavalier Daily is responsible for this achievement,” Editor-in-Chief Mike Reingold said. “Without the work of our over 200 staff members, The Cavalier Daily could not provide the University of Virginia with a high level of journalism and integrity.”

For the Cavalier Daily, the past five years have been a time of monumental change and growth.

During that time, the paper crafted a digital-first publishing model, moved to a state-of-the-art space in Newcomb Hall, and brought on a full-time business manager for the first time in more than a decade — all while producing compelling, important content for the University community.

That hard work is getting noticed. And the CD staff remains enthusiastic among the changes.

“As The Cavalier Daily continues to evolve, we will always keep this tradition of independent student journalism alive and serve the University and Charlottesville communities to the best of our ability,” Reingold said.

To the hundreds of Cavalier Daily staffers who made this possible: Congrats.
