CDAA celebrates its 130th birthday

Dear CDAA member,

There’s some exciting news coming out of Charlottesville.

First, it seems that the Cavalier Daily has found a way to reverse the aging process: The older it gets, the livelier and more vibrant it becomes. Check out the website as the Cavalier Daily celebrates its 130th birthday. There are great articles about what’s going on now, as well as terrific looks back at the CD’s history – maybe even parts that you remember.

And who says you can’t teach an old newspaper new tricks? Among the innovative content this year from the Cavalier Daily is its weekly podcast, which you can find on Spotify. It’s worth a listen.

And, lastly, speaking of historical anniversaries: It was one year ago that the Virginia basketball team started the season still battling questions from its NCAA Tournament upset by UMBC. This year, there’s a championship banner hanging in John Paul Jones arena, and the only question is whether they can do it again. The best place to find the answer is with the Cavalier Daily sportswriters who are closest to the action and know the team best. And check out some of the other (very successful) ‘Hoos squads while you’re there.
