Dear Cavalier Daily alumni and friends,

The Cavalier Daily staff held their leadership elections this past weekend and selected Eva Surovell to serve as the CD’s next Editor in Chief. Eva is a third-year English and French major from Alexandria, Va. She most recently held the role of Managing Editor and has worked in various positions in the news, sports, and copy sections.

The new term starts next month, and you will hear from Eva in the coming weeks. In the meantime, we congratulate outgoing editor Jenn Brice and her team on a successful year leading the paper. They provided critical, informative reporting on the pandemic’s impacts on the University community and the return to in-person learning.

As the new term prepares to take their positions, we invite you to join us in supporting the staff.

Here are three ways you can help:

  1. Volunteer to remotely mentor a current staff member by filling out this form.
  2. Support the CD’s immediate financial needs by making a gift to the CDAA.
  3. Help our endowment reach its $100,000 goal with a one-time or recurring donation.

I hope you and your families are having a wonderful holiday season. As always, feel free to reach out to me at alexisgravely15@gmail.com with any thoughts or questions.

Sincerely,

Alexis Gravely
President, Cavalier Daily Alumni Association
