Celebrate the Virginia Glee Club’s sesquicentennial the weekend of March 25-27, 2022.
The weekend’s festivities will kick off on Friday evening, blocks from the historic Downtown Mall, with a Welcome Reception from 6 – 8 PM at Three Notch’d Brewery.
Saturday will feature an alumni sing-in at Cabell Hall led by conductor Frank Albinder and featuring Glee Club favorite songs hand-picked by our conductors, current and former. Boxed lunch will be provided followed by an afternoon tour of the recently completed Memorial to Enslaved Laborers.
Saturday night will be an unforgettable evening gala of brotherhood catered by The Local with special guests and speakers. Don’t miss this opportunity to reconnect with friends from Glee days of past and meet current Club members.
Ten Thousand Voices: 150 Years of the Virginia Glee Club
Historian Tim Jarrett’s new book is now available for pre-order. A history of choral music at UVA as viewed through the lens of the VGC, this book explores the roots of singing at Mr. Jefferson’s University and traces the evolution of the Glee Club from Reconstruction to present, examining the social, political, and cultural forces that have shaped the organization. Biographies of prominent Glee Club Alumni as well as the history of many of the University’s celebrated student songs are included.
Virginia Glee Club alumnus and author, Timothy Jarrett ’94, is a member of the Boston Symphony Orchestra’s Chorus and the official historian of the Virginia Glee Club. He has been researching Club history since 2002.
Join us for our Spring Performances
The Virginia Glee Club will give a guest performance at the Virginia Women’s Chorus 6th Annual Women Against Violence Concert, Saturday, February 19, 2022, at 8 PM at McLeod Hall. Proceeds benefit SARA.
We will open the following sporting events with the National Anthem this spring. Go Hoos!

After a two-year hiatus we are eager to end the season with our traditional Finals Concert in the UVA Chapel, Friday May 20, 2022, at 8:00 PM. We hope you will join us to send off our graduates. Our reservation in the Chapel is tentative, so please check in for the latest information.
