The Hall was delighted to host many interesting speakers this semester as part of the Distinguished Speaker Series, covering topics from the importance of soccer to the nature of antisemitism. The spring schedule will be released in January.

November 2 – Dr. Susannah Heschel, Eli Black Professor of Jewish Studies and Chair of the Jewish Studies Program at Dartmouth College, “Again and Again: Jews, Christians, and the Politics of Antisemitism”

November 16 – Dr. Dean Karlan, Professor of Economics and Finance and Co-Director of the Global Poverty Research Lab at Northwestern University, “Pragmatic Optimism in the Fight Against Poverty: Lessons from Economics”

November 30 – Mr. Jody Kielbasa, Vice Provost for the Arts at the University of Virginia and Director of the Virginia Film Festival, “The Virginia Film Festival, the Bicentennial Celebration, and the Role of the Arts at UVA”
