On March 23, 2019, KA had yet another successful St. Paddy’s Day celebration. As one of KA’s largest events of the year, the day was filled with live music and fun, just as in the past. To kick the day off, we had one of the best local cover bands “Goose Rider” perform, playing mostly indie classics. After Goose Rider’s set, a band named Asher McGlothlin, which is comprised of current and former KA’s, closed out the second half of the exciting day. Asher himself is a 2018 KA alum, while Sam Sobell on drums and Will Finn on guitar are both recent, 2019 grads.
Like every year, we were happy to see alumni come back to Cville for St. Paddy’s as well as to check in on the fraternity. Having alumni take a trip back down to 600 Rugby to hang with old friends is one of the many reasons we look forward to Paddy’s each year. The party was also a great time for current members to socialize with alumni to understand the history of KA at UVa and what the chapter stands for in Charlottesville. Hopefully, this event brings more and more alumni in coming years and bring together multiple generations of KA.
