This semester we held our Parents Formal. Every brother was invited to bring a date and his parents to first begin with a cocktail party at the house. People gathered in the yellow and red rooms of the house and enjoyed the privilege of meeting other parents. Fortunately, the weather was nice enough outside to have people continue to socialize on the porch. Towards the end of the cocktail party, brothers were invited to take a collective picture.
Everyone made their way to Verulam Farms, who was gracious enough to host us. In the barn, there were long family-style dining tables set-up to encourage more socializing among the brothers and their parents. The meal was a quality buffet of steak, scalloped potatoes, and salad. As the meal winded down, the band began to play, and space was made for a dancefloor. Parents and brothers alike had a great time dancing with their dates to a combination of both classics and popular songs of today.
The event was a wonderful time for parents to come up for the weekend and spend time with their sons, while also learning more about Kappa Alpha and the brothers.
