President’s Letter

Brothers,

I sincerely hope that this first newsletter finds you all well. With the spring semester finally drawn to a close and two National Championships secured by the Basketball and Lacrosse teams (WaHooWa!), we take stock of the current state of affairs at the Lambda Chapter of Kappa Alpha Order. At the forefront of all, we are sad to see the Class of 2019 leave these Grounds and head off into the real world. They will be sorely missed by the Lambda Chapter, however, we are confident that they will accomplish great things as they take this next step of their lives.

This most recent semester, we saw great success within our chapter. Our 33rd Annual Louisiana Crawfish Boil was a resounding success, drawing in many brothers’ family members and friends for a great day of food and festivities. In addition, our philanthropy, the 9th Annual Mallette-Love Lacrosse Tournament, was also fruitful. Despite two unfortunate rain delays that cancelled the actual tournament component of the event, we still raised hundreds of dollars for the One Love Foundation through a raffle, t-shirts, and donations, while mingling with friends at the local Trinity Irish Pub where great food was enjoyed.

Looking forward to next year, we hope to see another successful round of Rush and recruitment, and through the efforts of our tireless alumni council, we have plans to begin a capital campaign to raise money to renovate our kitchen and spruce up the Concrete Room of Toad Hall.

We, as the Lambda Chapter, are excited for what lies ahead of us and hope that you all, as Lambda alum, wish to join us as we journey onwards.

Sincerely,
Landon Greene
