Tailgate Announcement

After much planning, the brothers are thrilled to announce our Kappa Sig Kickoff – Alumni Tailgate on September 4, 2021, coinciding with UVA’s first football game of the season against William and Mary. For the first time in 22 months, the Cavalier football team will be playing in front of a full-capacity Scott Stadium, and we want to do our part in helping all of you celebrate. We invite every brother, regardless of year, to 165 Rugby Road for a day full of live music, great friends, fresh food, and an abundance of refreshments. Rally up your pledge brothers, bring your spouses, and relive your college days at McCormick Hall all over again.

Alumni Reunion Party Sept. 4, 2021

Afterwards, we’ll all migrate down McCormick Road to Scott Stadium for the 7:30 PM kickoff against the Tribe. We’re relying on a big turnout – the kegs won’t drink themselves!

Alumni Engagement Survey

In order to gain a better understanding of how we can connect with our brothers, young and old, the Actives and Alumni Board created the following survey to help guide our future efforts. It is a very short survey, but will provide invaluable information for the chapter going forward. We hope that you will help us guide this journey. AEKDB.

Dane and Charles Join the Bologna Society

Please welcome Dane Ferré (’12) and Charles Westfall (’89) to our Alumni Board – the Bologna Society. Dane works as a corporate attorney here in Charlottesville after having recently moved from New York City. Charles resides in North Carolina and has worked in hospital administration at Duke Hospital since 2018. They join Michael Amrhein (’89) of Richmond, as we ramp up our efforts to create a fully-staffed board to help coordinate alumni events, manage McCormick Hall, and ensure fraternal continuity. Here’s what they had to say about their motivation to join:

“It’s been five or so years since I was in the house and I’m sure it’s still in dire need of TLC. Never thought a fraternity house should sparkle quite as much as Sigma Chi’s did, but I always rued the state of our house and would love to see a concerted effort to restore some of its former glory.” – Dane Ferré

“McCormick is in very much need of restoration, and I look forward to seeing its physical presence dominate Grounds as it once did” – Charles Westfall

The undergraduates have set out with a goal to staff the Bologna Society with at least seven members by the time the fall semester kicks back up. If you or anyone you know has interest in joining this reconnection effort, please contact either Michael, Dane, Charles, or Thomas.

PC ’21 Completes Their Journey

In the early hours Thursday, April 22, the 2021 pledge class climbed to the top of  Humpback Mountain with the entirety of their brotherhood to signify the completion of their pledge process and their initiation into the Zeta. The seventeen men were fantastic new members, and will undoubtedly continue to do this brotherhood proud for the remainder of their tenure at the University and beyond. For more information about this great group of men, see our Rush Update from March.
