Hello everyone. My name is Thomas Awad, and I am the House Manager at McCormick Hall. I hail from Nashville, TN, and the history of men from my hometown and high school joining Kappa Sigma is a large part of why I am in the house today. Seeing brothers of years past and being reminded of those that stood in our place and resided in our rooms prior to ourselves adds a special component of togetherness to the fraternity experience. Currently, our walls possess no composites or brotherhood images of any sort, but we can change that. Vantine Greek Composites is the company that has taken our chapter photographs for the past four decades (except 2012-13), and I have been in constant contact with a specialist there who is familiar with this type of restoration work. With the infusion of additional funds, we would be able to adorn the walls, stairwells, and hallways of McCormick Hall with the numerous faces of our brothers of the past. Our idea for this fundraising project centers around donations by year:
- For graduation years 2003-2020, we are seeking a class donation total of $2,500 or greater to order and permanently hang their fourth-year composite.
- For graduation years 1978-2002, we are seeking a class donation total of $5,000 or greater to order and permanently hang their fourth-year composite. This increase is due to the need to recreate the composite image using physical negatives from Vantine’s archives.
All surplus funds will go only toward the repair of the physical house and will be managed directly by the Bologna Society. All donors from classes who reach their thresholds will also receive a personal 15×12 inch copy of their composite. Please join us on this first step to restoring McCormick Hall to its glory as the pride of Rugby Road and the backbone of our brotherhood.
