Alumni Advisory Group

The Three Stooges

The House Corporation is named the Column Club, after the local fraternity that re-chartered as Psi Chapter in 1953.  The purpose of the house corporation is to hold legal title to the chapter house and to contribute the continuity necessary to provide a home for Psi Chapter.

The house corporation’s board of directors realize that addressing the challenges currently facing the brotherhood will require broader engagement from our alumni than we have had in the recent past. We have chartered an Alumni Advisory Group (AAG) committee to begin addressing these challenges.

The initial members of the AAG are:

  • Bill Hamilton ’79
  • Bob Light ’83
  • Jeff Moulds ’88
  • Chandler Williams ’91
  • Jason Redisch ’96
  • Adrian Mead ’15
  • David Winters ’23 (chapter president)

Over the past several months, this group helped the chapter focus on the core goal of recruiting new members during spring rush.  Going forward, the group plans to focus on the following critical issues:

  • Chapter Recruitment – Successful recruitment during the 2021-2022 academic year is essential to ensure the future viability of the chapter. We need to make sure that our new brothers get up to speed quickly so that they can contribute fully to our rush efforts.  The AAG intends to provide planning support to the chapter for formal rush and informal year-round rush.  We also plan to encourage recent alumni to engage more directly in rush once COVID restrictions are removed or substantially eased.
  • Physical Condition of the House – Cosmetically the house is in poor condition, with substantial cleaning, painting and numerous minor repairs required. In addition, the public room furnishings are in need of a substantial update.  The AAG will be addressing these issues over the summer in close coordination with the undergraduate chapter in order to make the house an acceptable place to live and allow it to function as a fraternity for the 2021-2022 academic year.  There are also long-standing issues with the wiring, plumbing, foundation, and HVAC system that will require a major investment to fix.  The AAG is in the early stages of developing a plan to renovate the house to address these issues.
  • Alumni Engagement – The challenges that we face will require broader and deeper support from our alumni base.  We are now working with the Alumni Association to share information with our full alumni base and to foster a greater level of engagement with the active chapter. This effort includes quarterly email newsletters, an annual print newsletter, and a new chapter website hosted by the Alumni Association.
