The Derek E. Brown Scholarship is designed to help pre-med and pre-dental students defray the high cost of applying to medical and dental school. Up to eight awards of $3,000 each will be made every year.

Applicants must be third or fourth year African-American students at the University of Virginia with a demonstrated pursuit of admission to medical or dental school. A strong academic record with a cumulative GPA that makes the applicant a viable candidate for medical/dental school is required.

Preference will be given to male applicants that are Virginia residents, but all eligible applicants will be considered. If you have questions, please contact: Trayc Freeman

Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis during the academic year.
