Sophie Nossier ’13

Serving as president of Theta for 2012 was an amazing opportunity and one of my favorite college experiences. I was lucky to have a wonderful executive committee to work with and rely on throughout the year. One of our proudest accomplishments was putting together Theta’s 1st Annual 5k Run for Yeards in honor of Yeardley Love, in which we raised almost $8,000 for the Yeardley Love Endowment and One Love Foundation. It was also great to work very closely with our Theta advisors, all of whom were so helpful, during the course of the year. Our incredibly successful recruitment was the perfect way to end my presidency, and I could not be happier for (or more jealous of) the 44 new Thetas we welcomed in January. My favorite part of being president was getting to know all the amazing members of the Delta Chi chapter more closely than I would have been able to otherwise. Theta has been such an important part of my time here at UVA and serving as president made it even more memorable and meaningful. It’s very bittersweet to think of my time at Theta and at UVA coming to an end, but I know I will always carry the many memories of my three and a half years in Theta and the friends I made with me wherever I go.
