August 22 saw the newest residences of the Theta house have their cars unloaded and rooms filled by 31 ecstatic fellow sisters and friends. After 4 long months apart filled with work spanning all across the world, from Maine to San Francisco to Mumbai, we were eager to return to our new home-away-from-home.
Although it was August in the heat of summer, we couldn’t have wished for a more perfect day outside. Clear skies and plenty of sunshine helped make the process go on without a hitch, as parades of Scout bags were hauled around the house.
The biggest surprise and treat of the day was getting to see our brand-new kitchen get put to good use as a “recharging” station. As we unpacked their belongings and weaved in and out of each other’s rooms with excitement, the parents mingled over fresh-baked cookies and lemonade in our own personal kitchen and admired the rest of the house.
As the weekend drew to a close and memories began, it was evident to all that there truly is no place like 127!
