My thanks go out to the Alumni Board and our new Advisory Committee who have been working diligently through all the issues that confront us. I’ll mention them all in this issue of Xi-Lights.
First of all, the good news. We think we have a reasonable plan to generate rental income through the suspension period. We can pay all bills, maintain the property, and put plans in place for the eventual re-colonization of the chapter.
Xi Chapter had its Fraternal Operating Agreement suspended until the 2028-2029 school year. During that time, the undergraduate chapter cannot hold any fraternity activities, social events, or rush. Alumni activities are not affected.
National Status: After reviewing the results of the investigation, the Grand Chapter revoked the Xi Chapter charter for the same amount of time as the University suspension. The Grand Chapter also expelled the ten officers in charge from Theta Chi when the hazing occurred (subject to appeal).
