Hello Brothers,

I hope everyone enjoyed their summer and stayed safe during these uncertain times. Although this semester is unlike any other, the undergraduates are happy to be back in Charlottesville and our third-year brothers are excited to finally live in the house. With the pandemic still going on and the school’s policy restricting events, running our chapter will look different this semester. While we cannot do many of the things we love doing as a chapter, we are committed to following the guidelines set out by the University in order to be able to do things like the past.

In response to university policy prohibiting any social gatherings of over 15 people, we have waived social dues for the semester. However, we are obligated to pay nationals fees in order to remain active as a national chapter and within the Xi Chapter. We agreed this was the best because we will not be having any type of social events this semester in order to comply with guidelines to keep the UVA and Charlottesville community safe.

Every day, I am reminded by my brothers how lucky I am to be a part of the Xi Chapter and have a support system that stems in and out of Charlottesville. Times like this are the ones that truly matter in the long run of being a member of the Xi Chapter and more than anything, just being together (socially distanced of course) is more than I can ask for.

With that, the undergraduate brothers wish everyone good health and prosperity so that we can all be back to doing what makes us happy.
