The Nu Updates

Currently, there are 32 active undergraduate brothers. We have been making progress as a fraternity by adding bylaws, adding leadership positions, and connecting more with sororities. This has made us more organized and cohesive as a brotherhood. Last semester, we refined a bylaw to encourage living in the house. This semester we’re up to 14 people living in the house, last year there were only 10 people living in the house, and the year before that there were only 7 people living in the house. Additionally, we restructured the payment of dues to include parlor fees. Last year, only 15% of active brothers paid their parlor fees, and now 100% of active brothers are paying their parlor fees. For those who didn’t have to pay parlor fees, they are used for the upkeep of the house and for debt services. If we hadn’t restructured the payment of dues, the house would have only been financially viable for another 1-2 years.

On another note, we have also been adding new leadership positions within the fraternity to boost involvement and organization. We have added an Academic Chair, Marketing Chair, Green Rep, and a Mentorship Chair just to name a few. By adding these positions, we are trying to benefit brothers and also attract a bunch of rushees!

Just a reminder, Founder’s Day is October 31. We will be celebrating our founding with a Founder’s Day Party on Saturday, October 27. Also, how convenient that we’re having the First Annual Theta Delta Chi Nu Charge Alumni Weekend 3 days after our Founder’s Day! 😉

Nu Charge’s Partnership with Gamma Phi Beta Sorority

We have been working hard to strengthen our relations with the Gamma Phi Beta sorority. We have had several mixers with them this semester already, as well as strongly participating in their philanthropy, Moonball, which supported Girls on the Run. This was a volleyball tournament, where we got 12-14 brothers to show up to support the sorority. The 10 brothers who played in the tournament got third place and had a great time.

Young Alumni Reunion 2018

This past weekend was Young Alumni Reunion (October 12-14), where some of the younger alumni got to connect with the undergraduate brothers. This was a great time; with the sweet bonus of witnessing UVA take down Miami in football. There was a bunch of tailgating, going to bars, and pregaming. We can’t wait to have the same opportunity with all of the alumni during the First Annual Theta Delta Chi Nu Charge Alumni Weekend!

Want to Get More Involved?

As undergraduates, we would love to hear from our alumni and connect with them as much as possible. How can you go about helping us with this? First and foremost, attend the First Annual Theta Delta Chi Nu Charge Alumni Weekend. This weekend can be a huge success if you make plans to attend.

Additionally, we have made a Theta Delta Chi Nu Charge Professional Database. This is a Google Sheet where you can add all your information including your current occupation. This will allow all brothers (undergraduate and alumni) to reach out to others in their desired field and have a conversation about changing careers, starting a business, or just to hear advice. Please add your information to the Google Sheet. Below is the link to this database.

Access Database

There is also a “Theta Delta Chi Nu Alumni” group on Facebook where a lot of alumni are currently active. Please join this group, tell your stories, and encourage your friends to attend the First Annual Theta Delta Chi Nu Charge Alumni Weekend. Below is the link for this group.
