Dear Alumnae and Friends of the Chorus, madison

Greetings once again, and thank you so much for your continued support of the Chorus! I am excited to connect with you as this is quite an eventful time for VWC. We are currently preparing for a collaborative concert on Saturday April 1st with the Glee Club, Roanoke Oriana Singers, and Chicago Men’s Group. Each group is excited to perform and we are especially grateful for the opportunity to work with such talented singers. During this concert we plan to give a sneak peek of some of the songs we will perform at our own concert.

This brings me to our next big event: our Spring Concert entitled “Our Earth is a Garden.” The Women’s Chorus is proud to present a variety of songs from folk to temporary to celebrate the beauty of the Earth, just in time for Earth Day on April 22nd. The Chorus is partnering with several green organizations around grounds to promote the well-being and sustainability of our Earth. We love seeing familiar faces at the concert and we encourage alumni to visit us again! We hope to see you there!

On a more personal note, I am happy to see the Chorus grow in fellowship and sisterhood everyday as we develop closer bonds and friendships. The Chorus truly is a safe community of women who share the same passion and love of singing. I could not be more proud of the support and love that members show each other. We are so fortunate to be a part of such an uplifting group of women. Furthermore, as preparations for the University’s’ Bicentennial celebration begin, I pause to reflect on the great history of the Chorus and perseverance of such a strong group of Women. As the oldest female choral group on grounds, the Virginia Women’s Chorus celebrates the presence of women at the University of Virginia. We should all be proud to be a part of this legacy in some way.

As always we appreciate your continued support of the Women’s Chorus! Your generosity allows women at the University of Virginia to join together in song and spread the bond of sisterhood. We lift our voices strong as we are supported by years of dedicated alumni and friends of the Chorus. We invite you to stay connected with the Chorus at virginiawomenschorus.org as the semester continues!

Thank you,

Madison Lewis
