Panel Discussion 1 – Diversity:  2:45 pm – 3:45 pm
UVA professors Ming-Jer Chen, Leslie E. Grayson Professor of Business Administration, Darden Business School, and Martin N. Davidson, Associate Professor of Leadership and Organizational Behavior, Darden Business School, will lead a discussion on the unique challenges and advantages that Asian-Pacific Americans can expect to face over the next decade in a globalized economy. Includes a discussion of how ones identity as an Asian-Pacific American and cultural norms can serve to enhance opportunities in the business world and lead to professional success, rather than impede it. Panelists also will discuss various styles of leadership that business leaders in the Asian-Pacific region have adopted and found effective as well as what are likely to be successful in the future.

Panel Discussion 2 – Globalization:  4:00 pm – 5:00 pm
UVA professors Dr. Harry Harding, Dean of the Batten School of Leadership and Public Policy and Dr. Brantly Womack, Cumming Memorial Professor of Foreign Affairs discuss the current state of US-China relations and field questions regarding America’s “pivot” towards the Asia-Pacific region and what it means for Asian-Americans.
