Many Cavalier Daily alumni have gone on to work for the New York Times and have appeared throughout the paper, including the front page. But there was one place the CD couldn’t crack, and that was the Times’ daily crossword puzzle.
Well, that barrier has been broken. The July 18 puzzle contains this clue: “Sch. where the Cavalier Daily appears.”
By the way, according to an (unofficial) database of New York Times crossword puzzle clues, this was the 46th puzzle that had “UVA” as one of the answers.
