Introducing Jenn Brice, The Cavalier Daily’s new EIC

Dear Cavalier Daily alumni and friends,

My name is Jenn Brice, and I’m The Cavalier Daily’s editor-in-chief for the 132nd term. I am deeply grateful for this opportunity to introduce myself to such an accomplished group of CD alumni and friends, who have built a tradition of impactful independent student journalism at the University of Virginia.

A brief bit about me — I’m a third-year in the College of Arts and Sciences, majoring in English and looking to declare a minor in social entrepreneurship. I’m originally from Indiana, PA., which is about an hour east of Pittsburgh. I’ve been on The Cavalier Daily’s staff since my first semester at UVA, beginning as a news writer and copy editor. In my second year, I became a news editor and then was elected managing editor for the 131st term.

These experiences have completely shaped my time at UVA. I’ve grown as a writer, a leader, and friend. I’m really honored to be working alongside a staff that is fully committed to serving the community with trustworthy storytelling. Despite all the challenges the past year has brought — from working remotely to keeping ourselves and others healthy — our team has proven to be as creative and dedicated as ever.

As we work hard to ensure dynamic, engaging storytelling is accessible and reliable to our community, our volunteer staff of over 300 students appreciates your support. I can’t wait to share our stories with you.

Wishing you the best,

Jenn Brice
