State of the House

The Zeta Chapter of Kappa Sigma continues to thrive as one of the top fraternities at the University of Virginia. 2019 has been a particularly successful year for the chapter. We are proud to declare the acceptance of 24 bids last spring, which totals the membership to 71 brothers currently in the house.

Academic success is of first and foremost importance to each Kappa Sigma brother. Kappa Sigma’s grade point average ranks among the top fourth of the 30 fraternities represented in the Inter-Fraternity Council.

Along with academic success, Kappa Sigma is a leader in service at the University. In April, we continued our semi-annual philanthropy event benefiting the Cameron K. Gallagher Foundation for mental health awareness at Coupe’s. This capped off a great semester for the Chapter and we look to continue our efforts next fall.

The members of Kappa Sigma fraternity are exceedingly involved in the University and Charlottesville communities. At the University, brothers are very active in the Honor System, Inter-Fraternity Council, University Guides, University Judiciary Council, club sports, as well as several contracted independent organizations.

We are excited to announce the formation of an endowment fund to restore the founding house to its former majesty and ensure the perpetuity of McCormick Hall. Since its construction in 1908, the house has undergone normal wear and tear, which can be properly reconditioned with appropriate funding. Please contact the Zeta chapter’s President, Bronson Ingram, for more information.

The Kappa Sigma Fraternity looks forward to keeping up its academic prowess at the University of Virginia and expanding its presence within the University and Charlottesville communities in the coming years. As always, please reach out with any ideas to aid Zeta chapter on its current trajectory toward success. Thank you.
