Thank You, Donors

It has become abundantly clear that the Phi House is much more than a building at One University Circle (located at the intersection of Rugby and Grady Avenues) in Charlottesville, VA. The 300 Brothers in attendance at the 150th Anniversary, and scores of others who hoped to attend but could not make it due to personal conflicts, know this. The celebration was a reminder of the importance of lifelong friendships and the experience gained from participating in something bigger than oneself.

Not only did the weekend amplify this feeling we all carry in us, but it was a reminder that it must be continued for generations to come. What has happened since Oct 6-7, 2023, has been nothing short of extraordinary. To date, the Phi 150th Anniversary Fund has received gifts and pledges in excess of $327,000 from 154 brothers! Five Brothers have made $25,000 pledges and an additional 16 have pledged $5,000 or more! As mentioned at the gala, it is the organizing committee’s hope that every brother will make a gift that is meaningful to them at any level. The Phi House is at its best when we are all in it together.

As a reminder, the funds raised will expedite significant repairs and upgrades to the House, reduce the mortgage, and address the current financial structure of the house. The Phi spirit is carried on through the brotherhood, but it is our job to ensure that this spirit remains in its rightful home at One University Circle.

Thank you to everyone who has made a gift, and we look forward to hearing from all of you as we continue forward with this ambitious effort. Please reach out to Mike Melley (Col ’92), mikemelley@gmail.com, to discuss further. Gifts can be made out to the Phi 150th Anniversary Fund.
