For several years, house chef Trish “The Dish” Clinton cooked off site and delivered dinners to the house. However, since September 2024, she has been cooking in the Phi kitchen. Trish, who has been our chef since 2019, prepares three dinners per week, primarily for brothers living in the house, as well as a few second-year brothers. Thanks to the Board, we are also able to provide dinners to the entire brotherhood several times per semester in addition to the regular meal plan. These monthly dinners have been an amazing opportunity to deepen the bonds of our already strong brotherhood. And an extra benefit has been that more guys have had the opportunity to experience what a terrific cook Trish is! We believe that eating as a brotherhood is important and recognize the impact that just one meal a week can have when we are all together. Next year, thanks to a strong effort by the Board and Phi Officers, Trish will be preparing three lunches and four dinners per week. So far over 30 guys have signed up to have at least one dinner per week – totaling over 100 meals per week – hopefully the rest will soon follow suit.
Whether it is her Korean Beef Bowls or her famous cheeseburgers, Trish does an amazing job of keeping the brotherhood well fed with large portions of high quality, tasty food, at a price more affordable than a UVA meal swipe. This February, she made a brotherhood favorite, Cheesy Crack Chicken Casserole, for our Super Bowl watch party, which was met with much appreciation and plates scraped clean. Trish also does an amazing job catering to the needs of specific brothers, adjusting her menu and plates as needed.
We are grateful to have Trish in the house and look forward to many more meals together thanks to her.
