Beta-Pi Renovations
On June 1, 2008 we undertook a substantial renovation at the house. The primary areas of attention were the hardwood floors, windows, kitchen, and porch and front steps. The floors had areas that were rotten and sagging, the windows didn’t operate fully and had panes that were replaced numerous times. The kitchen had the same oven and hood from the late 80s and the cabinets were in disrepair. The front steps, from years of kegs rolling down them, had cracked cement and could not be patched any further.
Peak 3 Construction out of Richmond, run by Matt Shaver (’02) and John Gray (’01) were the general contractors for the job. Brian Roy (’94) served as the owners rep, selecting finishes and layouts, and arranged all the necessary permits and supervised local contractors when Matt wasn’t on site.
