Some of the second-year pledge class before Parents Formal

The weekend of November 3 – 5 was eventful at 127 Chancellor Street! Parents’ Weekend kicked off with the annual Parents’ Formal Friday, November 3rd. We welcomed the parents of our Theta members as well as some of our very own Theta alumni whose daughters now attend UVA. Fourth year Lizzie Redd was in charge of orchestrating this event, and she went above and beyond to create the most special night for our Thetas and their families, planning the event at the beautiful Ash Lawn, previously James Monroe’s estate, not far from Grounds. The girls and their parents danced well into the night and the event was a huge success!

The weekend concluded on Sunday morning with Theta’s annual fall philanthropy event, Waffle CASA. The event benefited the Piedmont chapter of CASA, Theta’s national philanthropy, which supports and promotes court-appointed volunteer advocacy to provide a safe and permanent home to abused or neglected children. The event was hosted at the Theta house, and our very own chef cooked an amazing waffle bar in house. In addition, Kendra Scott hosted a trunk show and donated 20% of all of the proceeds to Piedmont CASA. At the first count of donations, we have raised almost $3000 for CASA!
