Plaque on the North Rotunda

October 13-15 marked the 40th anniversary celebration of the Delta Chi chapter of Kappa Alpha Theta on Grounds! This celebration corresponded with the dedication of the North Rotunda Terrace on the street-side of the Rotunda to Theta with a plaque commemorating the over $1 million in gifts given to the Rotunda Restoration project from Thetas and their families. This was the single largest gift by any organization on Grounds towards the renovation efforts. The plaque recognizes Theta’s role in the preservation of historical tradition on Grounds. In recognition of this astounding accomplishment, UVA’s Z Society wrote a letter to the Delta Chi chapter of Kappa Alpha Theta, read at the plaque commemoration ceremony, thanking the chapter for its dedication to service and philanthropy and the faithfulness of women in the chapter in being role models for young girls in philanthropy through such large donations to the Rotunda Renovation. Both Theta alumnae and current members of the chapter were united at the plaque unveiling ceremony to celebrate the accomplishment of the chapter in working to restore our beautiful Rotunda.
