Hello Theta Delts,

I am excited to release our first Alumni Newsletter for the 2022 – 2023 school year. My name is Samuel Aridi, and I am your Alumni Chair at the Nu Charge of Theta Delta Chi. I want to update our incredible alumni base on two key items:

  • House Renovations
  • Social Status of the Fraternity and Recruitment

First, I’ll share a peek into the fabulous house renovations that have been funded by your support in the 2020 – 2022 Capital Campaign. Next, I’ll share some information regarding our upcoming Alumni Weekend, taking place from November 11-13, 2022. If you haven’t already secured your ticket, be sure to register.

Thank you so much for reading, and please share this with your brothers! Here at 1811 Lambeth Lane, we are so excited to continue building on our strong, vibrant alumni relations, and we can’t wait to welcome you to the house this fall.

The completed renovations to the house provide a major benefit to the brothers and has made the house far more sustainable. Phase one and early phase two made the house safer and remediated damage, especially around water control and mold. A waterproofing strategy involved repainting all exterior bricks, a new walkway, concrete repairs, roof repairs, and a new gutter system. We also arranged expert mold remediation, plugged leaks, and basement walls have been sealed and waterproofed. Many joints around the house exterior needed to be resealed, and the coal chute has been removed; we know there’s a lot of history to it, but the contractor said it was a major source of water damage. For the first time in memory, we are not seeing moisture leak into the house, nor any mold growth.

These fantastic renovations are going to make the house a better place to live, to connect with current and new brothers, and to succeed both professionally (from our awesome new internet network) and socially (see the pending basement renovations). None of this would have been possible without your support! Thank you so much!

As a thank you to you, we are ecstatic to invite you to Alumni Weekend, which is set for November 11-13, 2022. Visit our website for the current schedule and invitation. There will be two home games, one for UVA’s basketball team against Monmouth on Friday night and one for UVA’s football team against University of Pittsburgh on Saturday. We will be having a welcome event at the house on Friday night before the basketball game, where you’ll be able to see the renovations yourself, get to know the current brothers, and celebrate some of our alumni who have made some incredible contributions to the 2020 – 2022 Capital Campaign. Please attend so that we can give a big thanks to Brad, Mark, and Robbie!

On Saturday, we will have a pre-game tailgate. The University has not yet released the time of the game, but the tailgate will take place approximately 2 hours before kickoff. After the game, we will be reserving a private area at the Biltmore to come together, to celebrate the end of the 2020 – 2022 Capital Campaign, and to set the stage for future success at the Nu Charge.

We are also planning to have a networking event and/or a brunch during the weekend, but more info on that will be released at a later date. For now, please register for the weekend!!

Lastly, we wanted to update you on the social status of the fraternity and recruitment. We have engaged in informal recruitment, offering bids to non-first year students. We are excited for this process because it will result in better rush numbers. We have 27 active brothers and are hoping for a large pledge class this year. So far, we have six prospects that we expect to join at the end of this semester and many interested first years eager to rush in the spring.

With two very successful parties that we had in September, we produced an extremely large turnout that had much of the Greek life scene in awe of the crowd. It was nice to see TDX return to form as one of the hotspots at UVA, and we are excited for our Founders Day party that is coming up this Halloween.

I hope that these updates make you as excited as I am, and I cannot wait to meet you all soon! If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to me via text (804-592-8632) or email (aridist1235@gmail.com).

Best regards,
Samuel Aridi, Alumni Chair
