2019 Fall Weekend

November 1-2, 2019

Every Fall semester, the Serpentine Society is proud to host its Fall Weekend. This event is composed of festivities, awards, and alumni reunions. This year, commencing with an awards dinner, recipients and guests alike converged on Thomas Jefferson’s Montebello for a light-hearted evening full of celebrations of the accomplishments in the UVA LGBTQ Community. Undergraduates, graduates, professors, and alumni were all represented in the award recipient body, with each cohort amassing wonderful accomplishments in their respective communities.

The events then shifted gears to take advantage of the beautiful fall foliage Charlottesville has to offer: Beginning with an on-Grounds Garden Breakfast, members of the Society enjoyed the picturesque scenery that UVA’s pristine gardens have to offer. Following the breakfast, the Society headed to Carter’s Mountain for a relaxing day of fall fun: apple and pumpkin picking, cider tasting, and of course – pictures! To view them, check out our Facebook page!

Many awards for students are in the form of scholarships and grants; thanks to the generosity of donors, the Society was able to award tens of thousands of dollars to enrolled students. If you wish to support the Serpentine Society in the scholarships and grants we award, professorship funding, student and community event funding, and alumni programming you can do so through our online giving form. Thank you for supporting progress on LGBTQ issues at the University of Virginia.

We look forward to seeing you next year!

Yours,
The Serpentine Society Board
