Joseph Linzon, a fourth-year brother in the Mu pledge class, has been working to open a new restaurant on The Corner that will offer a healthy alternative to some of the food options around the university. Named “Roots,” this restaurant will be a salad restaurant that plans to use only the highest quality ingredients from local vendors. As an awardee of the 2011 UVa Entrepreneurial Cup, Linzon was able to invest his winnings towards this new restaurant venture. Linzon and his partner Alberto Namnum, a SAM alumnus, hired Jung Kim, also a Sammy alumnus, to take on the duties of General Manager. Much of the student body, and the Sammy Brotherhood in particular, is incredibly excited for the opening of this restaurant that should add to the diversity of food options on The Corner.
