Officially becoming a department in 2017, UVA’s department of Women, Gender & Sexuality has had a profound impact on university life, especially for the LGBTQ+ community. The WGS department is a crucial partner of QVA, with their dedication and academic resources regularly empowering the Society to achieve its mission.
Donations to the WGS department provide support for the department’s many initiatives, which include instruction for both its undergraduate and graduate programs, organization of speaking events for LGBTQ+ speakers on Grounds, and the funding of research projects that directly aid the LGBTQ+ community.
