Come one, Come all!
Join us in Charlottesville for the 2018 Class Day Races and Alumni Weekend on Saturday, November 17, 2018. The Day’s Programme is as follows:
0830
Team arrives at Boathouse.
Classes get organized, assist with lunch set up, warm-up for racing.
0930
Racing begins!
We’ll start the day off pitting the classes against one another with traditional 500m pieces (bridge to dock), which offers great viewing for spectators of the finish line (no promises on a photo finish). Historically, the rivalry trash talk and each class’s coordinated costumes prove to be quite a show. After all is said and done, only one class will take home the coveted King’s Cup; generally it’s never the alumni–they have yet to mobilize a single race-winning, or any, boat to date.

Races wrap up and lunch begins.
Following the morning’s racing, all are welcome to join us for a BBQ lunch hosted by current team members’ parents at the Boathouse. Final points will be announced and the Trophy Presentation will occur during lunch. It’s always fun to have the whole VRA family together at the Boathouse; a great opportunity for mixing and mingling with all the generations of VRA oarsmen, families, friends, and supporters.
1245
Lunch wraps up.
