Introducing Your 2025 American College Rowing Association National Champions!

Supporters of VRA,

It’s time to celebrate your American Collegiate Rowing Association 2025 national champions: The University of Virginia! Not only did we win the M1V8+, but we also brought home victories in the M2V8+, and the WV2-.

With the ever-increasing depth of the ACRA field—28 entries in the M1V8+ and 77 teams overall—winning both the 1V and 2V is an amazing accomplishment. The wins were dominant performances executed with poise. The team put in a tremendous amount of work on and off the water this season to achieve these results. It brings me so much joy to think of the number of betting shirts floating around Charlottesville.

Congrats specifically to our coaches Frank, Vasquez, Ronnie, Callie, Sam and Graham. And to our 20 ACRA national champions:

  • Ian Forrer
  • Hugh (Q) Strecker
  • Tyler Remigino

And thank you to all of you, the team’s supporters, whose donations make it possible to provide world-class coaching, equipment, and technology in the pursuit of speed. Please know that Frank, the board, and I take the stewardship of those resources very seriously. And now—putting on my “Fundraising-Frank” hat for a moment—there’s no better time to celebrate the team’s achievements with a donation.

Next, the team sets its sights on training in Switzerland and competition at Henley Royal Regatta. We wish them all the best in what, for me, was the most fun period in my rowing career.

Wahoowa!
