ATO’s 149th Anniversary Reunion weekend is fast approaching. This year we chose to line up the reunion with UVA’s Bicentennial weekend rather than the homecoming weekend. We are keeping the ATO events slightly lighter this year as there are many events planned for the Bicentennial celebration as well as next year we are planning an extra extravagant weekend to commemorate our chapter’s 150th year.
Hope you can make it!

UVA Bicentennial Events
Friday is the main day of observation of the event. There will be lots of things to see and do focused on the Lawn and Rotunda, they can be found here – Bicentennial Event List. In celebration of the 200th anniversary of the laying of the cornerstone of Pavilion VII, the oldest building of the University, there will be fireworks, bands, and other displays all over the Lawn. At least 15,000 are expected for the event.
All-Eras Dinner at the Graduate Rooftop
We will warm up for the evening with a dinner on the rooftop of the Graduate Hotel, complete with an outdoor cash bar with views of the Corner and the Rotunda. The bar and the view will be available for as long as we want, so don’t feel the need to rush over to the Lawn for the Bicentennial events.
$45 per person for dinner, plus tax and tip, at the Graduate Rooftop. Last year we were able to invite over 20 active brothers due to the generosity of Alumni sponsoring an Active to attend. This made the dinner truly feel like the full brotherhood was present. If you want to buy dinner for one of the active brothers, that would be a generous and very appreciated thing to do.
Checks can be made to Bill Schmidt and sent to 245 N Dee Rd. Park Ridge, Il 60068.
Saturday, October 7
There is no official tailgate this year. Alumni Hall has a tailgate as usual if you are looking for an event with a live band, local beer, and food. More info here.
