The ATO Alumni Network

Dear Delta Alumni,

I am Matias Hahn, the chapter’s outgoing Worthy Master. As I step down from one of the most transformative and challenging positions I have ever held, I step into a new and very exciting one as the IFC Chairman for Alumni and Faculty Relations. Throughout my term as WM, I was always eager to connect with our chapter’s alumni, of which there are nearly 700! This was definitely a tall order, but one that I took in stride and with pleasure.

One of my first initiatives was to compile a spreadsheet of our alumni’s career information, for active brothers to reach out to for networking, as well as for academic and career advice. This spreadsheet has definitely gotten me in touch with people whom I would have otherwise likely never met! Please submit your information to keep our alumni network strong and connected.

The active brothers had a great time meeting you all at our Fall Reunion, and we would like to thank you for your generosity in regards to the sponsorships for the dinner. I am ecstatic that this initiative worked so well, and I look forward to seeing how many more brothers we can have attend next fall! This year, the brothers were moved upon hearing about the Rudy Project. Together, we raised nearly $150 for the cause, and we look forward to dedicating the tombstone with you all once the final goal is met.

Lastly, I’d like to discuss my principal goal as Chairman for Alumni and Faculty Relations, that of improving the relationship between all Greek students and the faculty. I will be doing this through the “Faculty Seminar Initiative”, in which faculty members will come to a fraternity’s chapter meeting to give a lecture, or lead a discussion on a topic that would be interesting and beneficial to all. Fraternities at UVA are required to have three educational presentations a year, and I aim to make the Faculty Seminar one of the premier presentation choices. With that being said, if you are in touch with any faculty members at UVA who you think would be willing to share an academic, yet interesting, topic to fraternity men, I would greatly appreciate if you could get me in touch with them.

As always, it is a pleasure working with you all, and I hope to see you all at our future reunions.

Love and Respect,

Matias Hahn
