Thanks to strong partnerships with the 2019-2020 Latinx Student Association President, Pilar Jimenez, and Multicultural Student Services Program Coordinator, Sadira Glendenning, a Homecomings Tailgate was held on the Lawn outside of Kayla Dunn’s (former Latinx Student Association President) Lawn Room. Current students and young alumni reconnected while eating some delicious empanadas. Additionally, the Bolívar Network Book Scholarship winners were recognized and celebrated. Even though the award has not been given out in a few years, the competition this year was fierce. There were over 35 applicants, all doing incredible work in their community on Grounds and in the Charlottesville area. After reviewers took the time to review applications, three winners were selected to receive $1,000 scholarships. Congratulations again to the three winners: Johanna Moncada Sosa, Lorena Tabrane, Brittney Vargas!
