There have been significant enhancements and achievements that have marked 2023 and the start of 2024. The biggest accomplishments of 2023 were during the Greek Awards when Chapter Advisor, Jim Soderquist, won “Outstanding Chapter Advisor,” former President, Will Eiben, won “Outstanding Chapter President,” and brother, Carson Beach, won “Emerging Leader.” These three awards show the commitment these two men have for our chapter and the excellent alumni leadership our chapter possesses.
The house has experienced many recent changes, including renovations to both the kitchen and third floor, as well as the addition of a new weight room in the basement — a project that was eagerly anticipated by current brothers. Situated in the right wing of the basement, our weight room is equipped with an array of state-of-the-art equipment including a bench press, squat rack, dumbbells, and various other pieces of gear.
This addition to the house will be of great use to our brothers going forward, and represents our commitment to constantly improving the Alpha Chapter. Beyond these improvement, the brothers in the house have continued to use the pool table nightly as well as utilize the new blackstone on the grill for brotherhood barbeques.
The spring semester has been off to a great start with a spring rush that was nothing short of spectacular. We are proud to announce the induction of 16 new members into the spring 2024 pledge class. This diverse group of young men brings fresh energy and perspectives to our fraternity, promising to contribute significantly to our legacy of brotherhood, leadership, and service.
As we look forward to the year ahead, these developments reflect our ongoing commitment to enriching the Chi Phi experience. We are excited about the growth and opportunities these changes bring, and we remain dedicated to upholding the values and traditions that have defined our fraternity for generations.
