UVA Kappas are Home at Last!

Kappas on move-in day

December 2021

Dear Kappa Kappa Gamma Alumnae and Parents,

There is no place like home, especially THIS home! On November 5, thirty women moved into their bedrooms at 503 Rugby Road, and soaked in a vibrant fall sunset over the Blue Ridge from the new Kappa Beach.

The fully renovated house includes beautiful indoor and outdoor spaces for gathering, studying, and celebrating. A courtyard connects a gracious front porch to Rugby Road. Even with breathtaking interiors and a striking facade, we still believe the true spirit of Epsilon Sigma is captured in the sentiment our chapter has shared on t-shirts for decades: “it’s what’s on the inside that’s counts.” Since 1975, our chapter has thrived because our sisters support and care for each other. WE ARE FAMILY!

The chapter began this renovation thanks to the early donations from alumni and parents who cherish the Kappa experience at UVA. We still need $500,000 to fund our construction costs and ensure the chapter’s long term financial health.

In January, when the members return for recruitment, the house will be open and furnished. Meals, meetings, movie nights, and rush parties…at last a return to normal and a home for all. We can’t wait to share the beautiful home with you and your family. Stay tuned for events and tours during
alumni reunions and other special weekends in 2022. Thank you for considering Epsilon Sigma in your annual giving this year.
