Kappa Kappa Gamma of University of Virginia is seeking a full-time House Director, starting August 2024. The House Director oversees the Chapter house operations and safety, and lives in the Chapter house during the University’s academic year.

Compensation includes private living accommodations (a newly renovated residential suite, including a bedroom, bathroom, work/living room, and kitchen, as well as access to the main chapter facility and amenities and parking); meals during the academic year when food service is provided; paid vacation during academic breaks, including holidays and summer, and a competitive salary ($40,000 to $50,000 based on skills and experience).

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Provide a welcoming, mature, positive, and professional presence in the chapter house, and serve as the official hostess for Epsilon Sigma Chapter.
  • Maintain supportive, communicative relationships with the House Advisor, Chapter Facilities Manager (“House Manager”), and House Board President.
  • Ensure the chapter house remains a clean, orderly, and safe environment and report issues in a timely manner to the House Board.
  • Help ensure the safety of the house occupants by supporting house rules and regulations as mandated by the collegiate chapter and by the House Board.
  • Communicate and collaborate with the Chapter’s House Manager for House related issues.
  • Respond to emergencies as needed.
  • Serve as an on-site contact for vendors including kitchen staff, housekeeping and maintenance.
  • Coordinate and oversee maintenance, including repairs and routine service for Chapter house and outdoor property, including all house features, appliances, furniture, and landscape.
  • Oversee fire and safety inspections and maintain communications and requirements with the Fire Marshal.
  • Approve and pay (or submit invoices to accountant for payment) House maintenance subcontractors.
  • Pay bills and keep records of receipts and expenditures.
  • Supervise the opening and closing of the Chapter House.
  • Prepare the Kappa annual House Department budget and report.
