$100,000 Gift

Chapter Room. The enlarged, light-filled chapter room which extends across the house provides several comfortable sitting areas, and space to accommodate the growing chapter for gatherings and meetings. New AV equipment will help everyone see and hear what is happening when the room is bustling with 150 women, or provide entertainment for smaller gatherings.

Dining Room. The new dining room will open up to an outdoor patio and a separate servery alcove, where meals and beverages will be served. The dining room layout and furniture will also accommodate flexible uses, such as studying and meeting, outside of meal times.

Courtyard (taken). The sunken courtyard between the front entrance and Rugby road provides a beautiful lawn area with seat walls to work or gather in front of the house. A garden of shrubs and hedges create privacy from the street and sidewalk.

Front Porch. The covered front porch with a bluestone floor provides a gracious entry for Kappa’s new front door on Rugby Road. Patios extend from each side of the porch, creating a large outdoor seating area.

Parlor. The parlor, flanked by two terraces, offers an intimate, comfortable sitting area for members and visitors.

Conference Room. This room, with a view facing the Blue Ridge, includes a conference table and chairs and equipment for members to use for smaller meetings or to host a group study session.

Kitchen. The kitchen, where the magic starts for Kappa’s beloved community meals, will include upgrades to provide more storage and office space for food service staff.

$25,000-49,999 Gift

Front Patio. The front patio is a terrace extending along both sides of the front porch. Rockers and chairs will give members a spot to relax and watch the activity along Rugby.

Foyer. The foyer welcomes residents and visitors through the front door, and opens in the parlor and chapter room.

Sunroom, first floor. The first floor sunroom cantilevers over the parking lot, providing lots of light and views of the Blue Ridge mountains. The sunroom includes tables for studying or meeting, and opens to the chapter room.

West Pergola (on hold). The west pergola will help filter the sun on the “Kappa Beach.” This structure has been approved by the Board of Architecture and will be installed at a later date.

Office/Quiet Study. The office/quiet study includes a large study table and five desktop workstations for individual or small group study.

Second Floor Porch (taken). The covered second floor porch, with sweeping views of the Blue Ridge and UVA Grounds, is a large covered porch accessible from to the second floor study lounge.

Third Floor Porch “Kappa Beach” (taken). The third floor porch, with sweeping views of the Blue Ridge and UVA Grounds, is a large covered porch accessible from to the third floor study lounge.

$20,000-24,999 Gift

Outdoor Dining Terrace. The dining room opens into an outdoor dining terrace with a grill and outdoor tables.

Balcony. The balcony extends over the front porch, providing shade for the large entrance facing Rugby.

Servery/Residents Kitchen. The servery is an alcove connected to the dining room for food service, and includes the Residents Kitchen, where residents can store and prepare food when the main kitchen is closed.

Residents Lounge, second floor. The residents lounge is a comfy area for residents to gather on their bedroom floor to watch movies, study or just gather. The lounge offers wide views of UVA Grounds and the Blue Ridge, and it opens to the covered porch.

Residents Lounge, third floor (taken). The residents lounge is a comfy area for residents to gather on their bedroom floor to watch movies, study or just gather. The lounge offers spectacular views of UVA Grounds and the Blue Ridge, and it opens to the open porch, the “Kappa Beach.”

Bedroom (18 available). The enlarged bedrooms on the second and third floors provide spacious living quarters for young women.

Residents Bath Hall, second floor. A new bath hall on each residential floor includes comfortable space for showering, and connects to a laundry room.

East Stairwell. Remember the posters of smiling faces during recruitment? That’s the right stairwell!

West Stairwell. Remember the many composites lining your walk up and down? That’s the west stairwell, which will have an entrance from Lambeth Lane beside a bike terrace.

Parlor Pergola (taken). A pergola shades the terrace by the parlor entry.

Side Terrace. The terrace adjacent to Lambeth Lane provides a welcoming entry to the parlor.

$10,000-14,999

Lambeth Garden. Gardens along Lambeth Lane extend from the front porch along the side terrace and dining terrace.

Courtyard Garden. Shrubs, hedges and trees provide privacy and shade around the courtyard and southwest corner of Kappa’s front yard.

Elevator. The chapter’s commitment to creating an accessible home includes installation of a platform elevator, in addition to widening doorways and creating clearance for mobility.

Ritual Storage (on hold). Storage space for chapter events and rituals is integrated into hallways on the residential floors.

Archives. The chapter’s archival artifacts will be stored in a secured space integrated in the Quiet Study on the first floor.
