As we began our tenures as leaders of the Beta Psi chapter, we set about to accomplish multiple goals. Among them was to host a phenomenal Spring Rush to replace our graduating fourth years and to improve our standing with SAM nationals and the UVA Inter-Fraternal Council. We have succeeded in these areas with a phenomenally run recruitment process as well as a very positive review from both SAM Nationals and the IFC during a recent chapter visit from a national’s rep. This was building on last year’s Best in Region Award for the Mid-Atlantic at last year’s Annual Sigma Alpha Mu Convention in Jacksonville that was won by Beta Psi. These successes will allow us to continue to grow at a rapid pace for the foreseeable future.

Beyond these goals, we have continued to improve our standing on grounds in academic, extracurricular, and social arenas. The brotherhood has strengthened with many of us partaking in housing improvements, and events that are exclusive to the brotherhood, such as weekly poker nights. Our philanthropic endeavors earn more money each year, and we aim to continue that trend later this semester with our spring philanthropy.

We look forward to improving upon the progress that has already been made, and begin working toward new goals as we continue in our roles as Prior and Vice Prior.

We hope that you enjoy this chapter update. If you have any questions about the Chapter, please do not hesitate to contact us and please feel free to visit us at the house at any time!

Fast & Firm,

Prior James O’Brien, & Vice Prior Douglas Etts
