Founders Day Celebration

By Mary Gray Johnson (’16)

Each year, Founder’s Day at Theta brings a few welcomed traditions. First, the excitement of returning alumnae, second, the cake which seems bottomless, remaining in the kitchen for days after the celebration, and finally, the remembrance of the Theta legacy at UVA, which began 38 years ago for the Delta Chi chapter.

While Kappa Alpha Theta celebrates its original founding at Depauw University on January 27, the Delta Chi Founder’s Day occurs April 3. This year’s celebration took place April 25, as alumnae returned to Charlottesville for a visit to Theta, followed by the Foxfield Races on Saturday. The camaraderie among young alumnae and active Thetas continues to remind us all of the unique home that each of us have found at 127 Chancellor Street.
