We lost our dear friend Diane in September of 2013 after she fought bravely for 6 years against breast cancer. She was in the KAO class of 1985 at UVA and had been living an exciting life in Austin, Texas. Several of us were fortunate enough to have a visit with Diane while she was under Hospice care. She had a wonderful message that she was determined to share as she was facing the end of her life. She called it “The Love” and wanted us to know that was the secret to a life well lived. “It’s all about The Love” she kept saying, “let everything else go. The Love is all that matters.” Wow! We were pretty blown away!

At her Memorial Service a few months later we committed to reunite and celebrate her again the following year. This year we met at Smith Mountain Lake and did Diane proud!
