The Women’s Chorus continues to provide a safe and unifying haven for young women at the University. An alumna recently told me that the highlight of her undergraduate years at U.Va. was the Chorus, and the care and compassion that the members gave each other. This is particularly important now, and we are reaching out to the Women’s Center, the Dean of Student Affairs, and to S.A.R.A. (the Sexual and Resource Agency in the Charlottesville/Albemarle communities) to offer our support in any way possible. The words to the song: “We will not wait for the violence to come calling” are extremely important and appropriate at this time.

We are deeply grateful for your gifts of time and money that keep this fine ensemble and community thriving.
