Dear Alumnae and Friends of the Chorus, madison

My name is Madison Lewis and I am so pleased to serve as the President of VWC this year! A little about me: I am originally from Cincinnati, Ohio and am currently a third year Commerce major. I previously served on the Managing Board as Fundraising Chair in 2015 and Business Manager in 2016.  In addition, I was the Soprano Two Section Leader for the past two years. Chorus has always been my number one commitment throughout my time at UVA and I am honored to be able to give back and serve the Chorus, so that other girls like me have the opportunity to be a part of such a great group in the future! We are so fortunate to share this bond of sisterhood and be a part of a group of women who respect and support one another!

Now, onto this semester! We welcomed 8 new girls who are full of Chorus spirit and excited to be a part of the group! In addition, we have many gigs and performances coming up like singing the National Anthem at the men’s UVA vs. Duke basketball game and performing at the Glee Club’s Singfest on February 18th to benefit the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank. In addition, we will be collaborating with the Glee Club, a men’s group at the University of Chicago, and the Roanoke College Oriana Singers to perform in the Glee Club’s Spring Concert on April 1st.

Finally, we are in full swing to begin preparations for our own Spring Concert on April 22nd! The theme of the concert this year is “Earth Day”! We hope to partner with several groups around grounds to promote and fundraise for Earth Day initiatives. We would love it if you joined us in this celebration and we hope to see you all there!

Thank you so much for your continued support and love. Your support is the reason that the Chorus continues to thrive! If you would like to stay updated on all the Chorus does throughout the semester please visit our website at virginiawomenschorus.org or our Facebook page. We hope to see you all in April!

Sincerely,

Madison Lewis
