Founded in 1904, The Raven Society is the oldest and most prestigious honorary society at the University of Virginia. It is also unique to the University, taking its name in honor of the most famous poem of the University's most famous poet, Edgar Allan Poe. The Raven Society has a distinguished history. The Raven Society sponsors scholarships and fellowships in recognition of academic and scholarly excellence.
