Dear Brothers,
This September, we celebrate the 170th anniversary of our founding at the University of Virginia. We have scheduled a reunion to commemorate this significant and exciting milestone over the weekend of September 23-24, 2022. A formal invitation and additional registration details are forthcoming and will be available online soon.
The weekend events include:
Friday, September 23
Begin the weekend with an evening cocktail reception at the Eta Chapter House on Carr’s Hill starting at 6:00pm. Join us for light hors d’oeuvres, drinks, and merriment as we enjoy time at the house and reconnect with friends and fellow Dekes. We are also tentatively scheduling a golf event for Friday. More to come here.
Saturday, September 24
Enjoy a picnic lunch at the farm of Scott Kelley in Western Albemarle County from 2:00-4:00pm. Relax and catch up with old friends and meet the active brothers while enjoying gorgeous scenery and – hopefully- beautiful weather.
The culmination of our 170th Anniversary Reunion will be a Gala Dinner & Dance (black tie encouraged) at Alumni Hall from 6:00pm-midnight.
The Reunion weekend will also serve in support of fundraising efforts to perform some needed renovations to the entrance of the house and the kitchen. Additionally, we will be establishing the David Carr Memorial Legacy Award and recognizing its first recipients. The award will be presented every five years to an Eta brother who, in the spirit of David Carr, has established a legacy of giving back to the DKE house through leadership, contributions, and supportive brotherhood.
We look forward to seeing everyone in the fall.
Fraternally,
The DKE Alumni Board
